Service Description
This 14-week unit is designed for designers who already know the basics — and are ready to go further. It’s an advanced formation for those who want to invent rather than imitate. Through experimental pattern-making, you’ll move beyond construction as technique into construction as language — combining precision craftsmanship with speculative design and digital exploration. Why Join The LIGNES DE FUITE System is not a school. It’s a working structure for designers who want to accelerate their evolution, expand their technical vocabulary, and operate inside a real creative ecosystem. Here, learning happens through production, visibility, and reputation. You’ll work alongside professionals, show your results publicly, and become part of a community shaping the next chapter of Canadian fashion. Leads Barbora Sanakova — 25+ years of experience in advanced pattern-making and couture construction. Milan Tanedjikov — Founder of LIGNES DE FUITE, specializing in concept development, research, and creative direction. Structure Weeks 1–7 — Advanced Techniques Study and reinterpret methods developed by Shingo Sato, Tomoko Nakamichi, and Julian Roberts. Use both analog and digital tools to generate new forms, develop prototypes, and build an archive of structural experiments. Weeks 8–14 — Independent Project Apply what you’ve developed toward a self-directed piece or small series. Combine research, design, and execution into a statement of authorship. Final works are presented publicly at the LIGNES DE FUITE Design Research Exhibit, a visible platform for new design intelligence.
